Individual Championship 2010

The California State Championship U.S. Championship tournament is a multi-level tournament that allows you to fish for $118 and fish for a grand prize of $20,000.  Modeled after golf's U.S. Open this event offers anglers a unique way to fish at moderate expense and still fish for big bucks. The tournament consist of three phases; local, regional and the state championship. There is a one time annual membership required to California Bass Championship. Memberships are $25 annually. Each member will receive a California Bass Championship a Flex-Fit hat and a T-shirt (at their first event) and a $15 gift card (for a purchase of over $100) to MonsterFishingTackle.com. This is well over the a $25 value of the membership.

Phase 1: Local

For the inaugural tournament every angler must start at the local level and pay the $118 entry fee to get into the event.  There are 16 local events to choose from.  You need to only finish in the top 10 of one local event to qualify for the regional event.  The local events will have a maximum of 50 boats. The top 10 at the local event do not win cash or prizes, they simply qualify for the regional event.  An angler may attempt to qualify at more than one local event. Angler's cannot qualify more than 1 time for the regional events and they may not qualify in more than 1 region.

All local events are 1 day events held on local lakes throughout the state of California .

Phase 2: Regional Qualifiers

The top 10 of each local event advance to the regional event. The regional event will consist of 40 qualified anglers, the 10 anglers that qualified from each of four local events in the region.  The top 10 anglers in each regional will win a spot in the state championship where they will win at least $1000.

All regional events are 1 day events held on a lake each region. There is no additional entry fee for the regional event.

Phase 3:

The championship will consist of 40 anglers, 10 qualifiers from each from the four regions. There are no additional entry fees for the championship event. The Championship event will be held on Clear Lake for year one and will move to a new region each year.

At that point - we will give you a time to show up for
"Video Interviews" between 9:00 AM and 12:00AM


The championship is a two day event and the payback is as follows.

1st Place - $20,000 + State Championship Perpetual Trophy and Title of State Champion
2nd Place - $10,000
3rd Place - $5,000
4th Place - $3,000
5th Place - $2,500
6th Place - $2,000
7th Place - $2,000
8th Place - $2,000
9th Place - $2,000
10th Place - $1,500
11th - 40th Place - $1,000

Plus: The entire top 40 at the state championship automatically advance to the regional event for the following year. The entry fee will still be required.
